Student attendance
Students learn best when they are at school. Regular attendance keeps students connected, learning and moving forward.
WHERE WE ARE NOW: 65%* of all BGPS students attended school 90% or more of
the time in the 2025-26 school year
OUR OBJECTIVE: At least 70% of all BGPS
students will attend school 90% or more
of the time in the 2026-27 school year
Third grade reading
Research has identified third grade reading ability as an important indicator of students’ future academic progress.
WHERE WE ARE NOW: 68% of BGPS third graders had foundational
grade-level reading skills (or higher) in the 2025-26 school year
OUR OBJECTIVE: 80% of BGPS third graders will have foundational
grade-level reading skills (or higher) by 2030
Ninth graders on track to graduate
Research shows that passing ninth grade courses is a strong indicator of whether a student will graduate from high school on time.
